The Environment Agency are responsible for the cleanliness of our rivers...hardly surprising they might object to the newspaper reports but read between the lines:-
"In 2017, Thames Water rightly received the highest ever fine, over £20 million, for discharging raw sewage into the Thames."
The above, and other comments in Emma Howards report about legal action being taken against offenders, only goes to prove that offending regularly occurs whether the offenders are caught and prosecuted or not.
