Normally I would say the same, but I'd go local for an event such as a DA rally, where it's more about the company than the location.
Back garden or side drive, when they were raising funds for NHS charities during lockdown with the Great British Campout.
Joking aside, our first trip of the year is always one night only, within an hour's drive, to check everything is ok. Forgot the tent poles once...

That brought back memories! On a group rally a few years back, mate's misses made him drive 2 hours home (and 2 hours back!) because she was cold overnight and wanted more bedding!
We all suggested popping along to local supermarket and buying cheap fleece blankets, or even sleeping bags, but a woman knows what a woman wants, and off hubby was sent!
