Sure. However, some sections of the single track road on NC500 is on a 1:4 hill with a hairpin bend half way up that you can’t see around because of trees and there’s also a couple of cyclists in front of you. (Happened to us.) Some boy racer coming downhill who doesn’t know or care that uphill has priority won’t stop, which means you have reverse down the 1:4 hill to the passing place, then do a hill start after they’ve passed without acknowledging your existence. While hoping another idiot doesn’t come racing around the hairpin bend just as you get to it in first gear. The cyclists going uphill are fine - they’ve just got out of the way onto the verge.
That scenario only happens rarely, but it did happen to us in an old MH - with an smelly clutch after the hill start. Wouldn’t fancy towing a caravan in that situation.
