I've blanked the name from my memory, but the worst site I've ever been to (and I went there twice!) was a little site with fishing pools right behind Newquay airport.

The airport wasn't really a problem, as it was closed over the bank holiday. Actually it was quite interesting.  It was the stinky loos, inadequate showers and getting woken up early on the Sunday morning by foul-mouthed fish-molesters and their unruly and incontinent dogs.

I'm never going to a site with fishing ever again. I don't know what makes farmers / site owners think the 2 things go together at all <shrug>

topcat36 - have you tried the Isle of Avalon at Glastonbury? Here are the reviews:

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=2109

They also take kids & it's the kind of campsite where they just run about playing. Not a lot in the way of swings as I recall, but plenty of grass etc.

I think the best for me is Harlyn Sands near Padstow. We have been there for two weeks the last two years on the run.But in June when it is fairly quiet.

Just had a week in Sufolk at a adult only site called Lonely Farm near Saxmundham, and that came a close second.

Hi Bev and John. We had a rally at Sandford Park last year and thought the site was  OK. We did go when it was quiet though. We were sited right at the top by the stables. Thought the unisex amenity block was lovely.

Park Coppice on lake Coniston. It's a bit expensive though £25 a night and nothing but loos and a small shop on site. Beautiful lake a couple of mins walk, good toilet blocks and lovely secluded pitches. No caravans side by side, row after row, that's my pet hate and the reason I don't fancy Marton Mere anymore.
