Dunstan Hill is a nice basic site ,got a little play area for children at the back and is fairly level, stayed there 3 or four times ,but last year couldnt just book a few days in advance because was always fully booked when we tried,  probably ok midweek but all the weekends seemed booked up long in advance.

Never been turned away from Warren Mill though yet .

Had a look at Budle bay campsite as well but didnt like the idea of all the chickens scratting about between the units ! so drove straight back out and went to Warren Mill

There is also a little site in Belford , but havent been there for years and years

There is also the other c&c club right on the coast  couldnt get nearer than that , never been though and cant remember its name .

Been to budle bay, like you say the chickens and god knows what else running around is off putting, they perch on the playground eqipment so the kids can't play on it, yuk

I think they're looking to go midweek. Dunstan hill is sounding promosing, quiet like the sound of it myself

This site has been recommended in quite a few reviews so it could be worth taking a drive up there to see beforehand.

Just looked at the wooler site fatlad, looks a nice site, sounds ideal for me never mind them! I don't drive so I find it easier to be within walking distance of shops or a village so it looks ideal for me, I'm finding more info for myself than themv

We've just moved to near Wooler - it's a lovely place and as mentionned has a good range of small shops and a fab chippy and butchers. Quite a few pubs which do meals but we haven't ventured into them yet.

It's also well placed for driving to the coast and Berwick. Alnwick is also a nice run.

About 10 miles or so miles away near Ford and Etal villages, is the Heatherslaw railway with a little steam train running and other bits and pieces.
