Has anyone been to wicks campsite - just down the road to scotts - it always looks nice when I drive past (been going to to bracklesham bay for many years - one of my favourite places
I just read the reviews of Wicks and it sounds nice, if not a little busy.
It sounds like the pitches are regimented, rather than the free camping, which I prefer. I might pop down there for a weekend.
I’m surprised that anyone has ever been turned away from Scott’s farm. It’s an enormous site and the owner sure likes to pack them in. It was enough to nearly put me off camping for life. Tents are literally guy-rope-to-guy-rope over the August bank holiday. It wasn’t quite as bad last weekend, but it was pretty busy.
I’m surprised Scott’s hasn’t ever had something terrible happen with tents crammed in like they are. I’ve had people use my pegs they’ve been so close.

I have stayed at Scotts, my friend goes there at every opportunity but I am like you, can't put my finger on it but just don't like it. It was just a big field with a lot of noise until late into the evening.
From what I can remember she went last bank holiday in August and got turned away because they were full, kids were really upset because they had to drive home that same night and everywhere else was booked. They were told it was the first time it had ever happened. The weather was reallly hot that weekend too so guess that's why they were extra busy.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Have you tried the sites further down? i think one is called Nunnington farm, not sure on the other one though.
Nunnington Farm is OK, a quieter version of Scotts Farm. Much smaller though. Curfew is stricter as a plus though, I find it much quieter than Scott's Farm.
hi just read your post with regards to a campsite on south coast. dont think im being pushy but we have just opened up a site near lulworth cove in dorset about 5 miles away in small village of east stoke wareham . we are just a open field surrounded by hedges with toilet and shower block (free showers) and our aim is for a peaceful and relaxed site best aimed at families and couples. we dont pack um in and charge £5 per adult per night. so if we can help in any way give me a ring. my name is lisa. 07739049647.
