This is for tigermad, apparently my OH says  that the winter is the time for camping.

Depends what you are after but High Yedmondale Farm 4 miles from Scarborough is excellant, got EHU, hard standing for caravans, seperate field for tents, restrict the amount of campers.  Toilets and shower.  Pub close by (need to drive really) that does excellant food and extremely large portions, very friendly site owners. This is a get away from it site but is close enough to civilisation should you need it.

Close to Scarborough and Whitby, I will be going back and probably in the winter months.  Check out their reviews (would attach link if I knew how)

Hi bigcraig, you mentioned that you may try the site at Robin Hoods Bay ? Good choice and a lovely area.

Just a word of warning though if you are going in December or the winter months,(and this is especially important to caravaners) --- The area around Robin Hoods Bay is EXTREMELY hilly and if there is snow or frost forecast, I would imagine that driving conditions would be very difficult.

Hello,

We, also, are open all year including the Festive period. Heated loos, all weather pitches and bracing sea air at the beach to work up an appetite. Availability so far.

I'm thinking the same for a bit of a change. The problem will be finding good sites that will welcome tents over Xmas and New Year etc.

I'm trying to find suitable sites in Scotland.

Personally I think "Harpic" is the word.....clean round the bend, but best of luck to you, my log fire will be crackling away nicely in the grate
