Some interesting views being aired here.  My parents used to take me camping at Scotts farm when I was a kid, no funny comments you lot.  I used to like it  The loos block were as rough as heck and the showers cold but we did have a good time down there.

When the wife and I got back into camping I opted for Scotts Farm as a good site to go to.  Not one of my best moves to be honest.  The atmosphere of the place was not hostile but it was not friendly either.  Yes it was close to the village centre and the beach but it did seem to have a sizeable "rowdy" element on site.  This might be great for those that enjoy the noise and booze late at night but this is not the style of camping I enjoy.

We have stayed at Nunnington a few times now and have enjoyed each visit.  Yes they have rules and give you the once over on arrival but they don't have trouble on site either.

Each to their own but I prefer the atmosphere and friendlyness at Nunnington over Scotts Farm.  The sandy beach is better as well than the pebble beach.

Hi Karee. I think your comments were out of order as I do have 2 kids, 4 and 6 and I'm sure most people on this posting do know what it is like to have kids.

Fun friendly run campsites don't have cars flying everywhere, loud mouth teenagers hanging outside the girls toilets with fag butts being thrown everywhere, people swearing when you accidently walk too near to their football game and I could go on and on and on.

From one of the 'moaners'!!!

I forgot about the teenagers hanging around outside the toilets (why do they do that!). It can be more than a little intimidating after dark.

I have children, both pre school and teenagers.  Mine have fun whilst camping but not to the expense of other people enjoying their holidays.  Mine dont run riot around other peoples tents.  There is nothing more annoying than a child running between your chairs when you are sitting on them.

We love our camping but chose quiet sites.  Have been to ones not as busy as Scotts, and its not our cup of tea.  Scotts is definately a no no in my book.  We are lucky to live a mile from the sea anyway, so the sea doesnt hold a huge draw for us.  We go in the other direction into the South Downs and have a favourite campsite that even when full to capacity, you have your privacy and the kids have other places to play without being around the tents.

I agree. We would never go back to Scotts Farm. It was only because we just wanted a weekend somewhere within a couple of miles and it was the only place that wasn't full. We should have just put the tent up in our back garden and had a picnic! We prefer Lyme Regis area and all the pretty villages around that area. I definately recommend it...Sooo beautiful and friendly campsites. I do also love South Downs, but never have camped around there.

Hi rockingal.  We camp at the CC&C site at Graffham and its fab.  Its set in the woods and the pitches are either on their own screened by trees and bushes or in small areas of 3 or 4 pitches.  Some are adjacent to the road, but we have several fav pitches now.

We use this site lots as we are only down the road.
