mjcreed my idea of hell.. just imagine how you would end up be crammed in to pay for the facilities and just imagine the people you would attract.

We are all so different..... it is what makes us so interesting.

it was meant to be a bit tongue in cheek as I am pretty sure such a place dosn't exist, however I did also state a large fully serviced pitch. so not over crowded. It would be nice for someone like me and there are plenty of us full timers about, the only places these type of pitches do exist are on travellers sites provided by local councils, as we are not gypsies / travellers they are not the place for me, I still work for a living, pay taxes etc, I just have no need or wish to own another house, and at the moment I along with others use the CL sites at around £8 per night. Most of the time these sites are more than adequate, but most are on grass and can  become very wet and muddy during the winter. it would be nice to have hard standing at least.............Mark

Quiet areas, fire pits, good but basic facilities, charges per tent, (not so much per car, per person, per tent and anything else they can charge for, ending up at some astronimical end total!) dogs on leads (including site owners!) BIG pitches, and no drunks in the quiet areas!

level site, trees and hedges for shelter, no marked out pitches, no noise after midnight, fires allowed, no caravans.

Clean and friendly! Preferably flat and well drained. near a cheap friendly pub with a pool table for OH if possible! No stupid pointless rules. No neighbours with unruly kids! No gazebos and pot bellied beer swlling blokes! Good access.

All of Above, but if a pitch is to be hardstanding and gravel is to be used for pitching the awning, it would be good to use round "pebble like stones". Not ones with sharp edges that cut through ground sheets and hurt your bare feet when you walk over them. Stayed in Falbarrow Park in Lake District and that was what they used it was great.

Different things at different times, just booked 2 weeks on the south coast and purposely sought a site with a pool for the children (for the scorching weather I am hoping for).  At other times just want a quiet site with clean plentiful showers/loos that are included in site fees, preferably near a nice pub you can walk to.  EHU essential.

oooohhhhhhhhhh, quiet family run family inspired site, flat soft ground that is easy to get the pegs in.  A small but fun play area for kids, just in site so you can sit and drink a glass of wine whilst watching the kids, walking distance to a pub that serves great food, places for a campfire and next to a big field for games of frisbee and rounders!!!!! oh and campers that respect the no noise after 11.30pm

Please let me know if this heaven exists

I like all of what rain_flower said although I prefer a hardstanding pitch in case it is wet & muddy

also
no regulars/season pitch owners who think they own the place & make new comers feel unwelcome while watching their kids run around your unit tripping over the guy ropes..............

somewhere nearby to give the dog a good walk off lead (off site of course)

lots of space on the pitch

We like big pitches with the 6m rule enforced, free showers with hooks and a chair, also no noise after 11:00pm, dogs under control, and owners who clean up after them. Not a big fan of club houses, this make late night noise. An area were children can play safely away from units.

The pitches would be flat and easy to get a peg into,  the friendly site owner that lets people get on with their stay, they walk around the site after 11 to make sure all is quite. But what i would say most importantly is that campers can stay on their pitch untill at least 5pm as long as the site is not fully booked. I do agree with Rosie T NO SEASON PITCHES

Hi,first post on here.

As we have 2 kids and a pet dog,we look for playparks, plenty open pace, pet friendly sites etc.Friendly atmosphere is paramount as there is nothing worse for children at night than the incessant thumping of music from someone's Vauxhall Nova.Don't get me wrong we adults do sit up late and have a drink but we respect the wishes of those around us.

we tend to dislike the idea of having to move off site generally at most sites visited before dinner time on sunday when actually a good idea mentioned to me was that if you arrive on the friday for a two night stay, work this into the 24 hour rule so when you arrive on the friday you leave around that time on the sunday, which really makes for proper value for money as we generally get to sites around 5pm on the friday due to work commitments, so then you have until around 5pm sunday to chill and return home having got value for money and a more relaxed sunday afternoon.

Flat site with lovely scenery. Quiet - away from busy roads. Friendly owners. Clean toilets/showers. Free use of showers and fridges. Washing machine facility. Quiet campers. Small play area for kids? Walking distance to pub would be nice extra. Able to leave late on day of departure - not 10 am or anything like that.

I've often thought it would be a good idea for a campsite to offer tent rental - where tents are already put up for you when you arrive. Not like the massive Eurocamp type tents but normal 6 berth ones. I'm sure these would be very popular if reasonably priced say £50 hire a week. You would soon make your money back on the cost of the tent purchase. The tents could be un-pegged and re-pegged in different positions to keep turf in good nick. If any campsite already offers this - let me know please.
