The drive in and out is terrible , instead of enjoying my break , i have spent 4 days worrying about getting back out , the campsite was fine but that approach road isnt worth all the worry, its beyond tight , its ridiculious, they should make it a tents only site.

Quite agree, and where are the signposts? we went too far, managed to find a way back. We were also put up a muddy hillside, never again.

Gosh sparkie you've dug so far back to find this post you've unearthed old Redtuts
I've never been to this particular site but there is one I used to go to where the approach road made me dread the thought arriving and leaving it. It usually ended up with me and the OH at one and others throats. In the end the road became so bad that we stopped using the site altogether which is a shame because it really was lovely.

I was there last weekend and missed the turning at the church. Took me a while to find a turning point. The road is really bad to get to the site but luckily i didnt meet any oncoming caravans or i would have had a major problem, put me off going again really which is a shame.
The road is very narrow to begin with and has residents' cars parked along it and often some sort of work going on which involves builders' vans which makes the road even narrower, a no no for us. I know the wardens can't widen the road but I also think it should be tents only, and when we queried the lack of signing to the site they just shrugged their shoulders.

Nightmare getting on and off the site, no facilities.....sounds wonderful. It sounds as though its geared up for caravans and motorhomes with their own facilities, but is a nightmare getting on to the site and off again.Yet most tenters won't use it because it has no facilities.

You have got it in one
This is why I use this site as my regular pitch.
Always somewhere to pitch a tent in seclusion, peaceful relaxing and well run. What more can you ask.
The units on electric pitches separated as per normal CCC rules appear crowded compared to the non electric side.
