Hi we visited Big Meadow in N devon, It has a private beach ( lots of steps ) its next door to a harbour and has a bus stop outside the site.And the pub is next door. its listed on ukcs also look at http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=1011

I love it too - it's my homeland, and I haven't been back for years.

I can't recommend any specific sites, but if you're going at peak times, the whole area around Barnstaple, Ilfracombe, Woolacaombe gets very busy with traffic.

I'd aim more for the bit of coast between Bideford and Bude - this is real wild "out in the sticks" territory - a beautiful coastline, much less traffic, and still close to all the main attractions if you want a bigger day out.
