Ref the quote by AndyVines

I only live 15 miles from Billing, the site is a very commercial place making loads of money from the 100's of static caravans there. The

it might interest you to know there are about 1700/1800 statics, not to mention the introduction of log cabins. About six weeks ago, a walk round the place showed no sign of improvement. I know it was winter, but it looked decidely unkempt. Since then it has been evacuated due to an expected flood, but that didn't happen.

We went last year to look at tents at the camping shop there - the people their were very friendly and helpful and they had a good display.

However, the place itself was awful - the kids needed the loo so we went to the one on the touring site and almost got cancer from the passive smoking while we waited for them!

It was the august bank holiday, but I have never seen so many tents in such a small area, or listened to so many competing stereos...

Definitely not somewhere we would want to be - which is worrying, because on paper the facilities etc. would make it look ideal for a family like us - so how do we know other sites aren't the same?

I have a static van at Billing and yes I can agree with you all, its not the place for a break at the moment.

Having said that the plans to upgrade the Park do look good but as we all know upgrade = more money.

They do have a Holiday Home Owners web site which does give you a bit of an insight as to what's going on at the Park

We are only going back to Billing this year for the Land Rover Show....there is a group of us meeting up as we all live in different parts of the country it is great in that respect......but I would keep away and never dream of booking for a holiday......what makes it for us when we are there is the social side with our friends and the show......the site is very lacking in facilities for tourers and campers......if they would only spend some money on the site it may just be passable.

Well having just been to this place for the VBOA show..it ain't changed any, its worse IMHO

If your going to any of the shows be warned they now have a Bailiff going about (first I have ever seen one ) and he is asking to check tickets. Being at the VBOA show  lots of us camp with tents, some had a smaller tent for children or for storage, this Bailiff came round asking to see tickets, if you had more then one tent he wanted paid  extra for each night, our club had two gazebos (as did very club) and he also demanded £5 per night for these.

I had a free pass supplied by the VBOA this had the dates 6 > 8th July, I was packing up on the Monday (the 9th) and he demanded an extra £23  for staying an extra night. Now I always thought if its was paid for the one night then you had to leave the next day, so the 8th would mean leaving the 9th??

also on the way out I was stopped and asked for my ticket, I was informed that I should have kept this and that I was liable to pay the full weekend rates without it..I wont say what I said but I never did pay anymore

I for one am looking at some other camping area if the VBOA do not move the venue.....£23 is a joke for that place, they should pay us!!!
