What about the site on wainfleet road, one at Sid Dennis fishing lake and another one on the RHS, both shouldnt be more than a few quid in a taxi and both on bus route. Is that at The Richmond?  I take it they are booked up. Taggs site? again on Wainfleet rd.Southview? Burgh rd.

stayed at the one near sid dennis scrap yard before - never again - sid had his crane & bulldozer working at 6am on the sunday morning & site was covered in dog poo, I think the static caravan owners use the camp site as a dog bog. I'm gonna stay at the water park, I like that site but I was hoping the carp weather would have caused some cancellations so I could have an ehu.

No its not the Richmond this w/e - This ones for real rockers.

Hi, I would hate to be running a campsite and having to decide on charging structure as there are so many variables. We used to run a pub with camping and mooring facilities and I am not sure we ever got anything right and found it to be true that 'you can't please all the people all of the time'.

Proprieters can only do their best in the market they are operating in and campers will tend to go to sites that have a price and facility structure that suits them.

Now we are retired and go off camping off season in a tiny camper, we look for sites that charge for a pitch and include two people.   We pay extra for electric. We look for special offers off season or weekdays, like 3 nights for price of two or just reasonable priced pitches. We don't mind paying 20p for showers as long as they are adequate and the actual pitch fee is reasonable.

I would never camp at a site that charged the same per night regardless of season.

In high season I expect to pay full whack. I tend to use the C & CC sites which offer age concessions and there are a lot of pensioners around who can keep sites going during off season periods if price is right.

I am sure most campsite owners take a pride in their facilities and are friendly and work really hard and long hours in a 'way of life' job which is never going to make them rich!!!!!!

The one that used to get my goat years ago when we had a camper was the pitch fee for the camper then got charged again for it as a vehicle, ie tent plus vehicle plus 2 people, so camper plus 2 people plus vehicle = paying twice. Needless to say I gave out a lot of comments & drove on but Im mellowing in my old age, after a look on here, if I dont like it I just dont go.
