Most camp sites close from 1st Nov to 1stMarch to meet planning restrictions set by councils. The min pitch size is also part of site licence requirements as is the total no of units on site at any time , there fore the idear of smaller pitches is of no use to anyone realy

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

I get really territorial when people invade my space or I can hear their radios and teles from my van.  I try to keep my volume down (was brought up with parents who's eternal rant was "Turn that down, the whole street doesn't want to hear it!).

I really hate awnings when people "live" in them (and I know a lot of people do) rather than the van.  They don't realise that in the night, noise carries, so their "having a couple of friends around for a casual drink" gets really grating when I'm trying to sleep, and they're getting drunker.  So, No, I wouldn't agree with smaller pitches .  I can see where Zozzer was coming from though, most camper vans and motorhomes don't use awnings (seen a couple of freestanding ones last year - they were COOL!)

This thread really made me smile.  I suddenly remembered a campsite in Italy in 1964 where, on waking up and unzipping the tent one morning, we found four Italians, sleeping across a two man tent with their feet sticking out and camped underneath our canopy because their tent leaked!  Now that really is close!  They moved when asked and we made four very good friends for many years afterwards.
