Is the silent world aquarium the one in an converted church that is run by a very grumpy woman always looking over you shoulder to see that you were'nt doing anything she didn't like?

I have absolutely no idea, but that was funny! As you come down the hill towards Tenby, there's a sign on the left for North Beach Car Park, and Silent World. Never been there, wondered what it was like though. We don't do the Touristy stuff when we're down there - it would cost us a fortune. We either chill out on the site or do down the beach. Kids never actually want to leave the site, because they're afraid of missing out on something, its best if everyone goes out at the same time!
Someone mentioned a Dinosaur park, is that one in Pembrokeshire please? If it's the Dan-yr-Ogof one, we've been there (not great value ...) but I'm also watching this thread as we're also in Pembrokeshire this summer. I need to scribble down the beaches mentioned, we're keen on boat trips to the islands and Folly Farm sounds great fun!

Glad I started this thread then as it's been useful to several other people as well as myself. Many thanks to everyone for all their ideas and tips.
Anyone else gong there when we're there? I've booked for 8 nights from 30 July but we'll only be able to stay 5 and coz of hubby's business we aren't able to know exactly when we can go until max. of 2 days beforehand which is usually makes pre-booking damn nigh impossible but as the site is only costing us £20 a night thought I'd book for longer than we want so that we can be flexible within those 8 days. (Memo to self - remember to call camp site if we're not going to be arriving until a day or 2 later than we're booked in to so that they don't think we're 'no shows' and re-let our pitch!!)

I know it's in the Brecons but I hadn't seen any mention of another dinosaur park in my research. Is Heatherton one then? Also, do all the fair rides cost extra in Folly Farm or do you just pay the entrance fee?
We are going from the 26th July for a week but have found a caravan on a smallholding as we like those surroundings and will then use the tent for other spontanous trips during the hols.

you do pay extra but as it's a victorian funfair some of the rides you have to buy coins from machines which are 50p if i remember and the coins look like the old fashioned money from the victorian times
They're tokens, with Folly Farm stamped on them. They hang around for bloody years when you go home! That's the only extra though, everything else is included in the price. You should do a bit of research before you go, they have shows, circus tricks and stuff in the Barn at different times of the day, and you can milk a cow!
