Loads of campsites and parks we used in Canada had central fire pit areas.
Like a wooden gazebo with a roof, but open sides with seating for about 20 and a raised central firepit that also could be used for a bbq.
I don't care for the "open plan" style sites. I prefer the ones with hedges and fences (i.e Tregarton, Cornwall). I think it also helps with keeping noise down. To me, it doesn't echo so much.
Tents and caravans mixed, or it looks like... us and them. Besides pitching between two caravans means you can get extra shelter
As a camper for 29 years and a caravanner for 1....PLEASE put the facilities closer to the tenters too, it seems so unfair.
