Is the 0845 tel number free?

Bet their call centre has seen an increase in calls!

It's at local call rate, free on some BT packages. They might need more staff though if members loose confidence in the on-line booking system.

Not free but it is like Government ones. Its a reduced rate one.Our docs was free when it was out std code as we paid for 24 hour free calls via Virgin. But certain numbers are not but reduced. When our docs went onto 0844 it became a reduced rate.Like 0845,0844,etc probably a lot of them now. But that is how they got round us paying not them. I got an apology via the ccclub when I told them what was being said. She said they have looked at all complaints, and bit by bit it is getting tweeked

But I said I was waiting for the receipts to make sure it was done as there was 6 on it. She gave me the run off, and it was all correct. But I noticed on the form it was saying, height ,length etc. So on the phones they are only saying what is on the form wanting to know so much ,is already written down to say to the caller.

Chrissie, I booked by phone the other day and when I arrived on site they had me on the arrivals list despite me not receiving a confirmation. And yes they had taken the deposit.
Hi birdie.Got an email after I wrote and told them what was being said and so not good for the club this problem with the webste. They said thanks and then gave me the run off of all my sites. Just the basic run off what they fill in.But it did have what they had to ask in the boxes in it.But mine turned out ok and they will be sending me a fuller standard booking form later. They are tweeking it gradually so are aware But she did say they read and take on board all emails coming in.

Well, things certainly haven't improved since November!! Have spent ages today trying to book on-line, each time it takes ages to get to the next page, whilst it does so it seems to "freeze" my whole computer. Then when it gets there, and you input all details yet again, including height and length of vehicle which it can't seem to retain, there is then a message saying: Oops there seems to be a problem, or words to that effect. Or it tells me that time has expired, when I've only just got to the page??!!??

It really is a mess, I cannot understand how a business, because that is what it is at the end of the day, continues to run a website which they must know is useless.

In comparison, the Caravan Club website is so much more user-friendly, and you can see at a glance for each site what availability there is, instead of having to wade through the whole process for each different site.

Rant over!

Thanks, yes, I'm aware I can either ring the site direct (if they're open and some of the sites I was looking at aren't open yet) or you can ring Head Office, but they're not open today, are they?

I was wanting to look at more than 1 site for availability, in planning a fortnight at the end of March, which is just impossible and it shouldn't be that way.

So, I'm afraid they've lost my custom and I've booked other sites elsewhere, and am seriously considering not renewing my membership this year, not just because of this, although that is part of it.

I thought I'd put the numbers on because Chelsea Girl asked if the 0845 number was free.

I'm getting frustrated with the website, in fact I've given up for the time being.

I am not any kind of 'activist' but no one at the club appears to care or listen. If you are having difficulty please post on the club Facebook page. Something has to happen, the sites start opening in another few weeks and it is still chaos. It is 'our club' so the staff must surely listen to 'our complaints'

Really? Why have a Facebook page then? And they call themselves the "Friendly Club"
