Steadings Park in Suffolk - several campers regularly bring their telescopes to this site. No light pollution or on-site lighting

Beech Croft Farm Derbyshire between Buxton and Bakewell.
Altitude 1000ft and about 5 miles from any large town with the advantage of being a very good campsite with great facilities.

Exmoor National Park was designated first International dark sky reserve so maybe a campsite such as Exe Valley. I'm staying near Exmoor next month, though in a cottage not camping, and hope to do stargazing. There are Dark Sky Safari trips from The Exmoor White Horse Inn in Exford very near Exe Valley Campsite.
