Uh oh Tracey, yep it was too good and you have tempted me again. I was put off by reports that it was a bit remote (though I have to admit I hadn't actually done any research myself) but your little write up has wetted my appetite again.

well i am off there on Thursday and very excited. I have three children 14 13 9 and i am hoping they will embrace the outdoors and swim and play in the woods.
I just hope the rain stays away.
We have been to FF once en route to Tenby and LOVED it. We spent four or five nights there and left so relaxed we are definitely going back. Our `kids`, who were in mid teens at the time, loved it, but I don`t think we could do a long stay with them, especially in bad weather, as they want sites with more `action` nearby. Luckily they are grown now and next year we are looking to go back to FF on our own (well apart from the dog) for some serious R&R time. AWP don`t bother us, we find them to be very good and with the size of our tents, you don`t even see them under the tent and in wet weather they do away with the soggy patches that leave you with that sinking feeling.
Never been to FF, keep meaning to give it a crack but have never got round to it. Will be in Wales in September and will endeavour to get a couple of nights there. First visited Wales in 1952 and been going back ever since.
Have just found a newly opened pub site in the top end of the Swansea valley so gotta give that a try, it's called the 'Ancient Briton' so should suit the oh as she is a native Celt. TraceyD's posting has sold it to me so will be heading west once the schools are back and peace reigns once more.......Mick

Does the Ancient Briton have ehu?
Yes it does, else I'd be in trouble with my Ancient Briton!
I'ts now listed in the campsite search and is located at Penycae just south of the Dan y rogof caves.
Am beginning to formulate a plan that looks like Swansea for 4 nights so she can do the relative and friends visiting thing, then Penycae for a couple and on to FF for a couple more, then on to Prestatyn with a stop in the leicester area on the way back........Mick
last minute decision to go to Fforest Fields this weekend. Will be our 3rd visit. Really looking forward to relaxing whilst admiring the scenery. Anyone else there this weekend?

Thanks, this has only just come up on my PC this morning.
We won't be going there yet (maybe later this year if the weather holds), we are off to near Tavistock on Sunday for a fortnight. My brother lives in Abergavenny so might combine FF with another vist to Blossom Park near there.
