Very difficult for owners of sites to draw the line between people enjoying themselves and people being a downright nuisance.
We have met some very inconsiderate people on our travels and very often these people are beyond reasoning with, you are just a nit picking old fart.
I do find sites now sadly , people totally ignore speed limits, noise limits , abuse toilet areas and can be thoughtless when it comes to considering their neighbours.
I hate to say it but a lot of the younger element seem to not have the same outlook, not all by any means.
Having said that, met two young families on a site in Talybont a couple of weeks ago ( from Glasgow), a real credit to them and their parents, so all is not lost.

USE CLS/CSS! sorry for shouting but it makes sense, especially if you choose adult only, and if you want loos and showers, there are plenty of sites that have them, use the filters.

Last year we were told off by a young couple on a CL for playing records outside in the afternoon!

I would have thought that, on any site, you should keep all noise to a minimum. Why would others want to listen to your music? We play music on a small Bluetooth speaker on low gain (so it is not loud) and keep it in our Pod and it is on very low. We can hear it in the awning and in the Pod. I do the pitch test. If I can hear it from the next pitch it is too loud and I turn it down. I would hate to disturb anyone with my music or anything else on site.

That site is nice, we have been there. Our music wasn't loud.

I absolutely agree. We like music, and like to hear the radio news, so I fitted a car radio with USB slot in our old caravan earlier this year, but whenever we turn it on we go outside to check whether or not it can be heard. If we can hear it more than 6 feet away, we turn it down. We also only have it on when the door and windows are closed.

I wish everyone was as considerate when it comes to music.
Just returned from a lovely site where we were 'serenaded' by a couple singing along to their clearly audible music (probably about 30ft away), a tent on the other side of the field playing what sounded like a rave track on repeat and a van in the other direction playing something else.
The only saving grace was that it all when quiet at 10.30pm when the campsite rules stated no music after that time!
I love music but not other peoples and I'm sure that others wouldn't want to listen to mine.
Just get headphones if you can't live without it, turn it down or go to a festival!

If someone told you off for playing your music outside then, surely, it was loud enough for someone to hear from elsewhere on the site so too loud. I wouldn't want to listen to someone else's music and wouldn't expect anyone to listen to mine. There are too many radios, TV's and stereos on site played too loudly. I would rather turn my music off than disturb anyone and, if someone had to ask me to turn it down/off, I would be mortified.

We are definitely on the same wavelength Suzianna. This is one of the main reasons we tend to avoid large, full facilities sites, and tend to go mid-week for short breaks and out of main season for our main holidays. I know those who are working and those with children at school often can't do that, and I do sympathise with them, but we are retired now. We've done the holidays with children bit, and it's our turn for a bit of peace and quiet. I don't want to annoy anyone else, and I don't want anyone else disturbing us. This is why we always go for the quieter sites with no facilities except toilets, showers and electric. The noisier element tend to avoid those.

Colin

Yes, you'd think so Colin. We always avoid sites with clubs, bars, restaurants etc. Largely, we have done alright because of that. Sites do tend to be quieter. Unfortunately, due to work, we do have to include weekends in our break and there really is a marked difference in the noise levels on site. I bet Wednesdays are wonderful LOL

We tend to go Monday to Monday on our main holidays, so there is always at least one weekend. Two if we go for at fortnight. I agree it does tend to be noisier at weekends. Short breaks we tend to go Monday to Thursday or Friday. Much quieter as we arrive after the weekenders have left and go home before the next lot arrive.

With you all the way, well said.

I remember on a site in France just a few years back, a gent, who was actually very pleasant but a first timer, was playing some kind of Jazz that could be clearly heard some 4/5 pitches away. I approached him, he was sat in his chair appreciating HIS music, he met me with a smile.

I said good afternoon, and showed him my ACDC Live at River Plate CD, I asked him if he liked ACDC “good heavens no” re replied.......And twigged straight away, apologised and turned his music right down to a whisper. We had a beer!

Some people on the way back thanked me.

I took the Highway to Hell and stepped Back in my Black tent.......Sorry!

If I am subjected to your music, your gonna be subjected to mine through my cars 8 speaker system, Stella in hand head a banging!

Rock and Roll! 😂😂🤣🤣
