If you do not have a wireless enabled laptop or pda or cannot connect to a Wifi hotspot, the next cheapest option is to use a PCMCIA card, pop in your sim card provided that its data enabled via your provider and surf away, 3G or GPRS most decent PCMCIA cards swap between the higher and lower speeds without you knowing anyway.
Vodafone has the widest coverage i think and there are many PCMCIA unlocked data cards on eBay for you to choose from, this way you get to do all you need in UK and Europe as well.
Taking a piccie, trx to your laptop and sending off is very green isn't it
Hey,,, you could even record a camping home video doing exactly that and send it into Sky News like everyone else seems to be doing these days
