For the best site I have found as a steam enthusiast myself, is the site called Woodyhyde campsite. It is in Dorset between Corfe and Swanage and one field is the fence of the Swanage Railway. You go under the railway to get to the site. No club or anything but a cool site for a relax and to watch the trains go by.

Folly far, Bitton. Half way between Bath and Bristol.
Steam train just five mins walk!
You can even see them from caravan site chugging along in the distance.
Woodyhyde near Corfe Castle in Dorset. Was there last week. Swanage steam train runs adjacent to field 1 and goes by about 4 times a day. It always gives a little toot on the way past - lovely sight and a lovely site

2 weeks time, we're going to Upwood caravan park, in hope of doing the Haworth steam railway for our anniversary which is only about 1 or 2 mile away from the campsite...
------------- Damned if I do...
Damned if I don't!!!!

We have just got back from Golden Valley campsite near Ripley and there was a regular steam train running over the weekend there, close enough we could hear it and see the steam! We have also been on the Lake Bala train too in Wales beautiful place
