Hi Liz

When we were away earlier this year, we had a similar thing happen the people next door to where we were pitched arrived at 10.30pm we had just got the kids to sleep, they had there car running with their head lights on pitching there tent, if that wasn't enough they then decided to had a late supper and were talking till 2.30am!!! Woke my youngest up their language was terrible!!!!

We haven't visited your site yet, hoping to visit next year!! Keep the good work up we are not all like these people!!

Hope to see you in 2009

Debbie

Oh dear Liz, you are certainly getting your share of problem campers this season. Never mind, think of all your guests that have gone home with a smile on their faces after visiting. If anyone has any doubts, just read the reviews, they say it all. It was our pleasure to meet you earlier this year, will be back in Wales next month but wont get out as far as Cardigan Bay this time but hope to see you again next year.

Very best regards, Mick & Joan

thanks guys I knew you would give me a cheer.....

Have thought of insisting he moves as there is more rain forecast..... then saying oh I'm so very sorry that his van is stuck in the mud and he's walking mud into his lovely new van - how wicked would that be

That's exactly what I would do, the customer is always right

But I would take a photo and post it on here.

On our recent trip we had campers setting up after 10pm when they were joining their parents on site.  The mum and dad came round everyone of us other campers and explained that they would be arriving and pitching late and were apologising in advance for the hassle. They had set off in the VW but it had broken down so they went home and fetched their tent.  In the end they didn't make that much noise for too long and I lent them our big flourescent light to help see with.  We go the light back the next morning fully charged!

Now if there were more campers around like that wouldn't every camp site be a better place and site owners have less grief.

We havent been caravanning long, just a couple of months but I have been suprised by how many people have a total lack of respect, last weekend we were sat outside our van having a bbq and drink overlooking a pool, there was a large group of teenagers/early 20 somethings that had been fishing and drinking literally all day, one of them came to fish on the peg near our van and got his mates to pick his tent up and put it smack bang in front of where we were sitting! (theres no pitch there, just the path round the pool) We soon moved him on when we told him he would be having a visit by one of our german shepherds in the night!

Just amazed me that he would even think it may be ok to pitch there in the first place.

All I can say is that to me your customer service sounds brilliant. If you had upgraded me FOC I would be singing your praises to anyone who would listen.

Some people are so ungrateful!

HI Jakers,

I can well understand your frustrations and if it is any consolation they all seem to be out and about this season!

We had some people on a couple of weeks ago in tents and 3 days into a 4 day stay it rained heavily and so the ground was really wet, apparently we should have forseen this and called the people before they had left home to tell them!! Because of this all manner of everything on site was wrong and standards had slipped since they had camped her a few years ago and left a day early. This is contrary to every other comment we have had in the last few months.

On the same day I had a lady complaining about the fact that a collegue had been rude to her when she had asked to open the laundry during cleaning time. All of the information sheets we give out upon arrival and the signs on the wall tell our customers what times we are closed for cleaning and yet as someone else has pointed out it all applies to everyone apart from them!! It turns out that in fact my collegue had just said that she would not open the laundry as the floor was still drying and she was still in the middle of cleaning so she hadn't the time to open it until she had finished.

Anyway, you are not on your own, and it sounds as though you are doing your best, if the chap was unhappy with his upgrade, put him on the soggy wet pitch and when he couldn't get off tell him he will have to call the AA or RAC to pull him out as your insurance will not cover it!! Hope that they have not caused any further problems for you!

Customers eh!

Best one we had was years ago when someone rang to complain about noise on  our site (working on another one at the time) and i did my best apology and explained we had seecurity guards on during the night. If the guest had spoken to the guards we would have had the noisey ones removed. Then he said it wasn't another guest it was the wind. I kept a straight face and explained that unfortunately i was unable to do anything about the noise of the wind!

Has anyone had a better one?
