£20 a night just for a tap..... I'm sorry but i wouldn't have paid that!!!
That's over simplifying it if I may say. A full service pitch usually costs about £3-£4 per night more. For that you not only get "a tap", you get you own drainage point, hardstanding and depending on the site, lots of other bits and pieces.
I don't know how old you are or how much you earn, but for me personally, caravanning is bloody hard work and the little extra that I pay to have a full service pitch makes the holiday all that more comfortable and enjoyable.
I cannot see what pleasure or need there is to have to traipse backwards and forwards with Wastemasters and Aquarolls, when for a few quid a night you can be rid of these tiresome chores. You don't do it at home so why expect to do it on holiday. Seems daft to me.

How am I over simplifying?
Littleesle wrote......We have just paid £20 per night for a site with no facilities whatsoever apart from a water tap and we were expected to pay for firewood. The kids were charged the same (£5) even though they are only 8 and 5. We had a lovely time but really I think this pricing is cheeky.
But this seems to be the going rate even for very basic sites. I remember camping being a cheap holiday!

Campers do it in the mud!
Hubby says we can't camp as much this yr mmm we'll see!!

Looks like I was right he he
