Just been away and found an almost full can of Weber barbecue gas in the middle of the track. (One of the small ones with the threaded connection?
Fearing it'd get run over I left it on a nearby wall.
Five minutes later it'd gone. Had the owner collected it or had it been swiped? I don't know.
If finding something valuable like a ring, I'd be tempted to hand it to the Police and and merely inform reception of where it is.
The Police will issue a receipt and if it's unclaimed in 90(?) days then you can claim it back as the finder.
It'd certainly stop any members of staff from swiping it should it go unclaimed!!
