In fact everything at some caravan sites is too early.
But, I don`t moan when the old guy with the caravan starts packing away at 7 am or the kids in the next tent start screaming and playing at 7.30 am. I don`t moan when its departure day and when Ive got up, had a buttie, emptied the CDP and then find I need a toilet and shower before I leave and its closed, so have to spend the next few hours stinking and touching cloth on the way home.
But, let me stay up after 11pm on a Saturday night and break the silence rule and others are too happy to moan at me.
The guy who said that the best cleaning times are 6 am and 12 spoke sense.

Jusy you could ask them what time the cleaning regime of the toilet area is..? Arrive at the site before or after this... Ask them how long it takes to clean the toilets or how long they maybe out of action...? What happens if you urgently need to use the toilet...?
Lots of questions you could ask.... the campsite is not privilege to your medical history. Wishing your medical condition on me is not very helpfull... I have enough of my own.
The original posters question was “is 10:30am too early”. I personally don’t think so as long as you have been informed. I could understand if the cleaning times kept changing everyday and the cleaning regime was erratic. As far as having a medical condition which means you need 24hour access to a toilet then I would seek sites that could accommodate this

Without going into too much detail on the illness, i dont got 24/7 to the toilets.
On a good day once, dodgy day if eaten something that disagrees with me 5 -6 times.
And if i need the toilet day and night i dont go away.
Due to having on going treatment this year, we have stopped at home, rather be ill home than away.

Ask before you stay ....? Sorry I'm struggling to see the point of the post. If you are informed of a time, work around it. The site might be small and only have one toilet or shower.
It can't be that difficult to be a responsible individual
I think my post may have been taken out of context. If you do not have a medical condition and are informed the toilets are closed for cleaning at a certain time each day I personally believe you should be able to plan your day around this. It maybe inconvenient but I'm sure the campsite would receive a lot more complaints if the toilets were never cleaned.
If you have a medical condition which means you must have access to the toilets then I would imagine a few questions before you book a site will prevent any issues arising.

As campsiteranger says almost all sites would allow entry for illness and/or nappy change or in one case car sick child arriving whom required a clean up. I think the being responsible for the time you go is more directed at those whom take no notice of what they are told ( this is on the increase sadly) and at times have been seen to 'sneek' into the toilets/showers and begin their half hour morning routine of getting ready whilst us as site owners/wardens and cleaners have been distracted by another duty eg: a dirty loo a particularly grim shower or as was yesterday simply getting the toilet rolls out of the stores to replace.
The individual having been told our closing time, ducked under the closed off ticker tape, stepped over the closed for cleaning sign, stepped over the broom blocking the doorway and subsequently spent the next half an hour taking a shower thus preventing that cubicle being cleaned and delaying our 'schedule' - he then proceeded to leave his shaving hairs around the sink, a very soggy floor, soap scum round the shower tray and a toilet that was smeared with skid marks - we do have toilet brushes!!!! - it may seem like nothing but it means that the loos then have to stay shut for longer which obviously affects other customers AND means that we enevitably get interupted as other customers begin to arrive or make enquiries.
DITO Oh we know exactly how you feel...when you are a small team [ in our case 2 and a half! ] trying to do everything. We aim do the main toilets/ showers blocks clean between 12 and 2pm [ plus very regular titivates throughout the day my last one being at 12 midnight and first one of the day at6.30am ] We open an additional toilet for guests use during these times and it continues to be very frustrating when the odd individuals despite being aware of duty hours decide to nip in past the cones, and brushes blocking doorway indicating "CLOSED FOR CLEANING" and spend 20 mins or so inside...thus making our afternoons a frenzy of having to jiggle delayed cleaning duties with new arrivals, ground maintenance, bin swapping and enquiries!
Blackmore CC cleaned the block behind us, 2-3 when most folk were off site, marvellous idea for us folk who don,t rise early cos we,ve been working hard all week.
------------- Keep smiling, its later than you think !
On all the CC sites we've stayed on the toilet blocks have been cleaned in the mornings, usually starting about 10.30 but sometimes as early as 10am, which I personally do find a bit early, but I just plan around it. There's always another loo to use and sometimes a second shower block. We were on one site with two toilet blocks where they closed both at the same time for cleaning which I did think was unnecessary and rather inconvenient. We realise why they need to clean in the morning, but why close both at the same time?

We stayed at Littlehampton cc this year the couple next to us were up walking thier dogs early most mornings the toilets are cleaned between 11.00-12.30 so when i heard them moaning about the toilets still being closed at 12.00 it made me wonder what time would suit everyone it's impossible to please some people.
I really don't think it matters what time they're closed as long as everyone knows when that time is and can fit round it. And as long as staff are prepared to be flexible when it comes to children and ill people.
We like to loaf about. If we miss the start of cleaning time, we loaf about reading the papers until the cleaning's finished. If it bothered us having to wait, we'd get ourselves organised and get there before it starts.
I think it's great to read how it is from site wardens' perspectives. I hadn't realised what a demanding bunch we campers can be!
