Of the 13 dogs we have the highest number we travel with is 5 in between shows we holiday around the country have done for years with no problems but the Caravan Club site at the warf at Bristol.

They said the accepted dog then asked what breed, as soon as I said Tibetan Mastiff they said sorry we do not take mastiff breeds, he did not know that a TM was a fluffy bear like dog but because it had a mastiff on the end her that danger dog, if I told him it was a Tibeatn sheepdog I do not think he would have know and we could have got away with it.

Britney - it's classic, you want it both ways, soft as a brush family pets and vicious guard dogs. Your signing off gives the game away ' my dogs can make the gate in two seconds can you?' Can I presume  that you're role playing Genghis Khan? I suppose it makes some people feel tough to prance around with these animals - the campsite were spot on when they red carded you.

Just because some of us are the owners of large breeds Tim it DOES NOT mean we prance around feeling tough. Yes some people buy them for the wrong reasons and do exactly what you`re saying but there are many more of us out there that are not your average Jack the lad that only buy the dogs as a trophy on the end of there arm.

Anyway i can just imagine myself a ?? year old  woman of 7 stone prancing down the road with a Rottweiler of the same weight in 1 hand and a Cocker Spanial in the other. Do i look tough  I think not!

And the debate rages on!!!

There have been several topics on this site recently concerning dogs and what absolutely mystifies me, is why is this such a big issue among campers.  Why are campsites any different to where we usually live?  I live quite happily with my 2 dogs in my house among lovely neighbours, no problems whatsoever.  I can even walk my 2 dogs around the town, including the busy High Street, no problems.  But from what I read on this site, I could very easily be led to believe my dogs will not be welcome when I go camping; even if I do manage to find a site to take my dogs, beware my fellow campers on the next pitch!!!  Fortunately, I know this not to be case and have enjoyed trips away with my dogs.

It has been mentioned before that members of this site are mad - I think they must be aliens!!!
