Or £20 for 2 people and no ehu in low season. Too rich for my pocket
Fair enough, we understand that it won't be for everybody and we are quite comfortable with that. We don't actually want to appeal to the mass market because we realise we simply can't. Not if we want to make such a small site pay without it being completely overcrowded and not somewhere we would like to camp ourselves - an important element of the initial idea and not one we wish to stray from.
Many of our bookings so far have been families of 4 and more who are pleased with the value it offers. Many sites do offer a less expensive 'pitch' fee but by the time you have added on a few children or an extra adult the cost soon creeps up. If however you do appreciate the spaciousness of the pitches we offer and the site as a whole I don't think £20 for two adults is too bad, infact I know it isn't, going by the number of bookings already received. As said many times before, it's not going to be for everybody but neither is a city of tents for the weekend.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
With my small trailer tent and no vehicle access, you rule me out, as pushing it would be a non starter with all our kit. Access just to off load is perfectly acceptable to me. I would also need EHU if with family so a heater can keep little lady warm in night if its cooler.
BUT thats me and your site sounds cool, so if you think you can keep a reasonable number of happy returning customers then good for you.
We ALL want different things so you cant please everyone. You only need to please 7 family's per week and with your amenities you will certainly appeal to some.
Good luck and post some pics when your up and running.
------------- if your not living life on the edge your taking up tooo much room
There are things about your site that appeal, things that don't, and things that I don't quite get. Overall, the setting you have described sounds lovely - the space, the firepit etc. But I do think you have a "particular" camper in mind.
I understand the no cars plan but don't understand why you would want to stop any access when setting up and dropping off thereby limiting a lot of people from coming (older, unfit). Or are you really appealing to younger folk to keep the foggies away! Could a circular type access drive not be introduced? It wouldnt have to be tarmaced to keep in line with the overall look but make it easier for people to unload etc before banishing the cars?
It may only be me but I really don't get a toilet on every pitch which for me is a turn off rather than an appeal and as far away from traditional camping as you could get, only my opinion of course.
