The sad thing is that there's a very sizeable proportion of the population for whom this is the normal way of behaving - whether they're on a campsite or at home, or driving. It's all about consideration for others, and bringing up children to understand what's right and what's wrong.

You wouldn't get this on a French campsite - unless it's full of Brits.....

Well said.

Well has someone as already said theres a simple answer to this problem..... if you get neighbours from hell, tell the site owner that you will not be returning to there site explaning why, then tell them you will post a review of your stay on this (and others) websites for all to read. Don't think it would take to long for the message to sink in??? I do not book anywhere without first checking the reviews on here.

cheers,
Neil.

we have just had two nights in southsea and had the whole field from hell. we were next to a caravan that was like the tardis, kids just kept coming out and we think they were with 2 other parties in frame tents the children were playing out side at 7.30 in the morning and screaming and shouting like you would not belive then the football started hitting our van the 5th time it flew into our van nearly took my head off!!!! all this can be avoided if the parents had any thoughts about other campers but seem to adopt the dont care as long as its not near me attitude. we have camped for years in a tent and now caravan and our kids know how to behave when camping because they have been taught right from wrong.

You think you all had the neighbours from hell - well read on!  We went to our normally beautifully quiet idyllic site near Fort William only to be rendered near shivering wrecks by the end of the week.  On the first day a group of chaps arrived, starting drinking at 3 in the afternoon, went off out into Fort William in the evening and arrived back at 3 in the morning obviously well cut and happy to wake the campsite.  The next day a group of I must say lovely German scouts arrived, the only thing was they tended to sleep until late morning and had roudy evenings till the early hours and were pitched right next to us.  Then a lovely group of bikers arrived, were very considerate when coming on and off the field, not revving their engines.  Only thing was they decided to party until the early hours and we could hear everything that was said (not pretty).  Luckily we moved on for the second week to Dumfries and Galloway and what a difference - our faith was restored in campers.  We have children and most certainly have taught them right from wrong and to respect other peoples privacy.  Yes unfortunately us tent owners do tend to hear a bit more than most (no double glazing!) and we expect that but to be kept awake at all hours is not on!   I am sure this will run and run.
