Had a fantastic time.  Weather was fabulous, even the storm that threatened on Sunday evening missed us.  And packing up to come home yesterday was hot work!!!

Hubby loved Fforest Fields, as I knew he would, and is insisting that just him and I go again at the end of the month without the kids so we can do some serious walking.  Can't wait!

Well, you know what they say about Manchester, always rains, they are quite right! The site at Broadbottom is noisy (it's at a garden centre), with delivery lorries, fork lift trucks, geese and sheep in the fields and it's under the flight path to Manchester Airport. has 1 loo, sink and shower, no hot water to the sink, no mirror, intermittent loo paper (that's 1, not 1 ladies and 1 gents). We took our tent and were expected to pitch on a hard standing, disobeyed and put up on thr grass, got told off. £8 a night so can't complain but wouldn't go again, not much to see either. Found TK Maxx in Stockport, bought some jim jams and that's all. Watched Man U on tv with the locals. Saw a mother duck with some tiny ducklings, she was taking them down to the river, probably for the first time.

Anne
