Hello all

The new season is upon us (yay!) and my better half has dropped a bombshell; she deoesn't want to go to Fisherground in the Lakes for the first weeek of the main holiday in August. We always have a 2 week holiday with the second week being in a cottage, this year the cottage is in the Brecon Beacons (which I'm soooo looking forward to). Problem is that I had assumed we would be enjoying the marvelous Fisherground campsite again, but Mrs Lugg wishes for new ground (grudgingly admitted as fair enough) so can anyone give me any clues as to a similar site in  Wales. That is with campfires, facilities for kids and it would be nice to be close to Snowdon . Have looked on the search engine but some personal views would be great. Thank you.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

Hi Bernie

I'm sorry but I don't know a site which fits the bill but have you seen the list of sites which allow fires?

Also whilst very close to where your other week will be, Fforest Fields sounds like it has a lot of the things you are after. I've not been but it's name seems to crop up regularly.

I must also admit that I wanted to subscribe to this thread as I love Fisherground (off there in 3 weeks time) and would love to find another near Snowdon.

Let us know if you find what you are after (but don't tell everyone )

Thanks BG, I'll certainly look into Fforest Fields. I'm jealous of your Fisherground trip, not sure if we'll make it this year but I love it there.

If I find anything suitable I'll be sure to post. Thanks again.

Tyn yr onnen allows campfires in one of the fields, has a footpath running direct to snowdon from site, (it is an extremely long walk tho'). Good site & highly recommended!

Also I think snowdonia parc allows campfires too

See you all soon, Bernard

That looks just the ticket Bernard, such a good bonus having the kids so well catered for. Many thanks
