Tried about half dozen campsites that were all fully booked foir August, in the end we booked for stowford country holidays.

just be aware that the sites are filling up fast, especially the popular ones.

If this carries on i may have to sell my caravan and start going abroad .

I cannot book my holoidays until new financial year and the idea of buying the caravan was i could book later, as you say it is getting so difficult these days. We prefer the quiter sites but as we have kids it tends to be a bit of both quiet and busy sites. Looks like it may be quieter sites from now on lol.

we bought our tent as our holidays abroad were costing between 2.5-3k per holiday. perhaps people just cant afford those prices. and of course tents nowadays are huge, you can get all the mod cons, not like years ago. looks like camping is getting very popular.

Bill - I prefer the quieter sites, but struggle to gt on those this year....

I was thinking its hard to believe that all those pitches on all those sites are efully booked, thre must be absolutley thousands.....of caravanners....

Last August in cornwall we booked this years break for the end of July and were told if we didn't do it there and then it would be unlikely we could get in at all!

Never booked always toured freely before school holidays but even had problems with that last year, afraid camping isnt what it was. "Going with it all" rather than "getting away from it all"!!

hi

we booked for maybank hol yesterday.  we fitted in alot of camping last year before the children broke up for the hols,  had no trouble getting in, but did stay away from the coast by about 2 miles, this seem to help.
