Try Longridge fell near Beacons fell just slightly north of Preston. been there a couple of times. Great for the kids its got a swimming pool. and a bar for the adults with entertainment usually in the evening. Beacons fell is quite nice if you just fancy a nice stroll nothing too energetic. Cant remember the costs but I remember it did used to be a Haven site.
Also, have a look at Edisford bridge in Clitheroe. Not sure if they still take tents there. again thats quite nice next to the river and not far from town.
If all else fails my back garden is free this weekend as we will be in Windermere.
