Aghhh had planned to go to a lovely little campsite in staintondale - only to find out its now turning into 8 chalets lol.

So we are now at a loss as to where to go, We have a tent with EHU, we want somewhere small and sheltered - cause I'm a wimp, and we have 3 young children so plenty of space would be good, and we need to go in the six weeks holiday grrrrrr.

So any recommendations for either Filey, Scarborough, Bridlington?

My only real want is a small shop and clean facilities!

We had our first camping trip last year and went to Jasmine Park which is a little inland from Scarborough. The shop is very small, we didn't buy anything there as we were only there for the weekend and went into Scarborough each day. There is a play area/field, it has no equip (except maybe 2 football nets) but plenty of room to run around. Only 1 of the camping fields was in use when we went so I don't know how it would feel when it was busier.

Good clean facilities incl family bathroom which was great for our toddler. Dishwashing sink, washing machine and drier.

Read the other reviews on this site to help you decide if it's what you are after.

Middlewood Farm at Robin Hoods Bay (about half hour drive further north than Scarborough) is lovely, very spacious camping field, bags of space for the kids to play, plus play area.

Good clean facilities, only a 10 minute walk to the village (which is beautiful) plus you can explore "Heartbeat" Country,Whitby and even drive to Scarborough for the day.

Or just stay put and enjoy the site!

Cayton Village site about 4 miles south of scarborough.  Camp has paly area for kids, local pub does evening entertainment and beach is about 3/4 down the road.  Our kids love it.  Safe, quiet site.

If staying for a while (and with EHU) request a pitch actually in the main park rather than the big field out the back where it can get a bit windy

I'm pleased to hear Middlewood Farm is good as that is where we are thinking of going this summer.

We took our Nebraska XL (which wasn't for us in the end) to Jasmine Park. I had told them it was a big tent when booking however when we arrived we were shown to a small pitch. We told the warden we wouldn't fit on it and he moved us to a different one (well actually 2 but you wouldn't have got more than a 2-man tent and bike on the other pitch!). There was a monty 6 with canopy and windshield there when we were. I'd advise you ask when booking but they do have pitches which accomodate you but they vary in size considerably.

Ruth
