Hi everyone,

does anyone know of a family friendly campsite on the west coast of scotland? possibily around Oban area.

I have looked around and seen some possibilties but they don't all match what we are looking for (I don't think i'm sure what I am looking for either!!). I have seen a lovely one but it's down a 14 mile single track to the nearest shop etc and too long a drive to go off camp every day.

We also have a large Nabraska XXL tent so need a large pitch with EHU

We would like very near/or on the beach.

Not too long a drive to see other areas of interest etc

play area for a 10 and 6 year old.

Can anyone help please

I believe the CC site near Oban takes tents and non-members.  It looks to be in a fab location from the brochure overlooking the sea.  Look out for those midges though!

why not try ardgarten near arrochar or there are a couple on loch lomond.

Much further north but have you considered Clachtoll Beach Campsite?

Wonderful place with wonderful views, direct access to the beach. To be honest I have never seen tents on the site so you would have to ring them to ask. 01631 710291is their number. Other than that it ticks every one of your boxes.

Theres a lovely campsite in Benderloch,5 miles from Oban on the way to Fort William.Right near the beach.Theres a shop and a pub in the village.The campsite has large pitches and lovely clean loos and a private bathroom too

Hi can I suggest the above site stayed many times not on beach, but 10/15 mins walkor  2 min drive into Oban with breathtaking views from pitches of islands and sea regards   fdoolz

Oban CCC site. Fabulous site in a great spot!

nb: actually 13 miles from Oban!
