HELP! I am trying to find a quiet campsite in the Padstow/ Newquay area. We are a family of five and have a 6 man tent, so the pitches need to be a reasonable size. We are after excellent facilities eg. showers, surrounding area and possible play area but definately no clubs or same sex groups. All ideas welcomed.

I like Trethias campsite at Treyarnon, it is well kept, quiet and you can walk to the beach, it soon is booked up though. We are thinking of booking Music Water this summer, we haven't stayed there but did have a look at the site last summer. The site is further from the coast but looked spacious and well kept and you could start your holiday any day of the week.
We are stopping at Gunvenna Holiday Park in St Minver during June. It is close to Padstow and not far from St Isaac. We haven't been there before but I am reliably informed that its pretty good.

we stayed at Padstow touring park a few years ago, lovely site, there were mature shrubs around 3 sides of our pitch, so it was nice and private. We paid extra and had our own toilet, I think it was called a Kernow pitch. It wasen't too busy and the owners were realy nice, plus it was really close to Padstow. Good luck (friends of ours also visit this site every year in their caravan, and can't speak highly enough of it)
hi there im affraid i cant offer a campsite recommendation but Holywel bay just outside of newquay is really nice.iv been there several yrs in a row in a beach villa. there are several campsites within the area though, erm the 1st 2 that i can think of that are within wlking distance of the beach are holywel bay campsite and trevornick (might not be spelt right!!).one is 2mins walk away the other mayb 10.also 2 family friendly pubs within walking distance. one provides bbq's etc and is situated right on the beach. phone boxes between pubs as mobile signal is rubbish.beach shops and small grocery shop near beach aswell as nearest village of cubert (2mins drive) with post office pubs/restuarant etc.i dont know if u can tell but i love the place!!!beach has lovely fresh water stream down left handside&sandunnes.can take cliff walk either way ne side leads to perranporth beach other to pollyjoke. bad point beach can get busy in peak season.
we went to this site last year, and it was lovely, also quiet, althought you are right next to the beach and the facilities are clean, etc. also some nice seafood restaurants and bars in the porth area.
We've been to Trevella near Crantock loads of times. It has a shop, little cafe/takeaway, laundrette, small games room, outdoor swimming pool, children play area and fishing lakes. Great place for a quiet holiday and within walking distance of the coastal path.
Only reason we're not going this year is because kids are getting older and wanted a site with a club house.
Forgot to mention the crazy golf. It's concrete and on a slight slope, so not easy to play, but had us in fits of laughter for ages.
Haven't stayed at Dennis Cove but we did walk around there as so close to Padstow and level walking. Plus we looked at the facilities and they were immacualte - would definitely be booking ourselves there next year.
