Somewhere in the Lakes?  / Peak District?  Just trying to think where the hills are in England - how about somewhere in Wiltshire near the Ridgeway.  Or the Old Oaks where you can walk to Glastonbury Tor from there - pretty cool.

We have just been to Glenmore near Aviemore - you have a perfect view of Cairngorm mountain -  beautiful - not England I know but mountains a plenty.  Or come over to us in Wales - plenty of mountains here too!

Pembrokeshire! We're on the north coast and the sunsets alone have to be seen to be believed - we often climb a rocky outcrop called Garn Fawr near Strumble Head lighthouse and it makes you feel as though you're the only person in the world; it's a landscape of wild moors, crags and towering cliffs, and when we were up there on Sunday night the sky seemed to be on fire with crimson and gold....recommended too are our starry skies - some of the lowest light pollution in Britain apparently!

Thanks for all your suggestions,as a couple we try and do different things for our anniversary, and this year we fancy high ridge camping (maybe not the best idea for 60 and 50 year old) or isolated coast areas.your ideas have reminded me what a beautiful island we live on. thankyou for that

Hey Kitch,

One of the best sunsets we've found was at the Caravan Club's Trewethett Farm site, just between Tintagel & Boscastle, north Cornwall. It hangs on the cliff edge on Bossinney Cove, hope this is any help?.

Cheers  Creaky.

North Morte Farm, Mortehoe, Devon.

Plus points: Best sunsets anywhere. Amazing 270 degree panoramic views from your tent. Friendly, clean. Pubs & shops within easy walking. Great beaches and coves. Reasonable rates.

Negative: long, long way from Norfolk.
