Hi All,

can anyone recommend a campsite in or around morcambe? I have had a look at the ones on this site but am not keen on any. I don't know the surrounding area so I am unsure of where to search!

Many thanks

Daisy x

Daisy, We go to Morecambe quite often and have been on most of the campsites advertised in the Camp site search on UKCS we don't really have a favourite, just like them all!....If you are not keen on any of them then you might try Holgates at Silverdale which is around 10 miles....

Funny enough OH was talking to work mate about Red Bank Farm just north of Morecombe.  If same one I think NW meets are sometimes held there.

I live in morecambe - but no offence taken, I wouldn't want to camp here either! Bolton le Sands is much nicer or Detrongate at Carnforth always looks fairly busy.

Daisydaisy100 what are you wanting to do in this area and then we can think where you would be best placed.

I think you will find bolton-le-sands and hest bank area the nicest near Morecambe. You can access the shore at Hest Bank and when the tide is out walk to Morecambe on the beach (dangerous place to be when the tide is coming in so be VERY aware) There are a few campsites to choose from. There is a pub called "the hest bank" off the shore road that does good traditional pub grub.

Silverdale is a lovely place and the sites there are good, you can get to Morecambe, but also Arnside which has a lovely walk along the shore and a clean beach.

One site, not sure what it is called, at bolton-le-sands has pitches on a fairly steep hill though, so I would ask about pitches if you would want to avoid this......

If you end up at bolton-le-sands you are still near Lancaster for things to do if rainy or any shopping. If you go to Lancaster, Williamson Park is lovely - beautiful gardens and views, a memorial, butterfly house and cafe.
