Hi, I've been looking for the same thing for this weekend, although our group seems to be getting smaller & smaller as everyone keeps dropping out lol. (it'll end up just me & my girlfriend soon). We're from the Manchester area and of a smiliar age to you guys. We have been looking at camp sites around the Lake District that, from reading the reviews, will let a big group of us stay and that don't have a curfew - but a lot if not most sites now tend to have these strict rules.
We've booked in at the Coniston Hall Camping Site which is West of Lake Windemere and sits next to it's very own lake, Coniston Lake. I believe the camp site is right next to the lake so that suits us and from the reviews it seems it's quite a lively (and noisy) campsite which suits us fine, especially when the beers in full flow! They are still taking bookings so maybe give it a try, even if its only as a back-up at least you know you're booked in somewhere - the number has recenty changed to 01539 437 150 so ring this first if you do.
Just to let you know also, I have called at least 10 camp sites around the Lakes in the last few days and most were fully booked or anticipate being full by Friday evening/Saturday morning so I don't know when your planning on going. Also, I would almost definitely check availability of sites to see if they're full or not before turning up - especially if theres quite a few of you as the chances are you'll just get turned away.
Good luck anyway,
Dean.
