I wonder if anyone has seen the price increases at Billing Aquadrome.? http://www.billingaquadrome.com/rates.htm
Last year it was £15 a night whether tent, caravan or camper.I rang them the other day and asked about my friends SWB CF Campervan and was told its still classed as a Motorhome.!! So a £4 increase on tents and caravans, but a whopping £14 increase for a campervan.! It doesnt make sense.?????

I see you too are fairly local to Billing, we are from market Harborough.
I refuse to go to Billing due to the pricing, and to be honest the last time I went I found the toilets and showers to be a mess, too many unsupervised wee ones or just dirty adults (not sure which).
Shame as being just down the road, would be easy for last minute weekends.

I dont know how they have the nerve to charge them prices, when they havent done any work on toilets and showers for campers. Are they having more secruity* on for that price too.

We went twice last year, both at Bank Holidays, with our grandchildren and it was full of drunken foul mouthed yobs in noisy cars and racket into the small hours on both occasions.Complaints fell on deaf ears.We had a new gas barbecue and gas bottle nicked from our awning, during one night. The place looked more like Glastonbury on the Sunday morning.! The whole place was dirty and run down, the toilets stank and were flooded in whatever most of the time. There was empty beer cans and litter all over the place too.We certainly wont be going back, especially with the new price rises, being so extortionate towards motorcaravans.
By Comparison, weve just booked up at Wicksteed Park for a weekend in a few weeks. £10 a night camping.! I know you have to pay for some of the rides once you go in,but theres a world of difference on prices(and cleanliness).

There are so many negative comments on this site that I don't understand how they are still in business! Sounds like my idea of sheer hell, the name is indelibly etched in my memory as a "don't ever go near" site!!!

This article was in the local Northampton news last year
"Billing owner says future is bright
THE multi-millionnaire new owner of Billing Aquadrome has said the future is bright for the Northampton holiday park as he turns his attention to upgrading its facilities. John Morphet, whose company, Pure Leisure, bought the park for around £25 million, aims to listen to the park's staff and customers before deciding on exactly what improvements to make. After tackling immediate concerns he plans to look further into the proposed £10 million redevelopment plan for the site, with one of his possible ideas to add a swimming pool complex to the leisure park. The 51-year-old Lancashire-based businessman, who owns resorts in north-west England, Spain and Barbados, said: "The future is very bright. People who have enjoyed Billing Aquadrome will continue to do so. "I have seen on the website there are quite a few derogatory comments made about the park. The biggest success comes from listening to staff and customers and what they have to say about it. We specialise in customer care. "I will basically be running it the same as before. But we want to upgrade the facilities, more electricity for touring caravans, improving toilets and showers, create areas for log cabins." Mr Morphet said he would continue to look into the £10 million redevelopment of the park, which include The Boardwalk, a new entertainment and leisure area. The new nine-hole Shark Island adventure golf game, which formed part of the proposals, is already completed. The rest of the entertainment development has already been given planning permission by Northampton Borough Council. "I will be looking into this further within the next 12 months. We might keep the plans as they are or change them a bit," he added. "I have a lot of experience in holiday parks. We believe in value for money and I will be looking at a number of upgrades to the site." Mr Morphet bought the park after being attracted by its accessible position, near to the M1 and halfway between London and Birmingham, and its waterside location. The park officially changed hands last week after being in the hands of the Mackaness family since 1928. The 235-acre site was transformed from gravel pits in the 1920s and has spaces for 700 touring caravans and tents and 1,100 static caravans. Mr Morphet travelled from Lancashire for two days last week, meeting 60 per cent of the staff and will fly in by helicopter today to continue to investigate his latest purchase."

They couldn't pay ME enough to stay at Billing...Once was enough..The first and only time we've ever had anything stolen. Appalling facilities and loud, noisy and an unpleasant atmosphere.

Hi Nick W .You had something stolen as well.?? We had a brand new gas barby and the gas bottle stolen one night. From out of our zipped up awning.!
As Jules said "Filled with drunken yobs who partied throughout the night and were screaming and shouting constantly, revving engines, driving round intoxicated and urinating where they stood. All under the eye of the security people who went and joined them for a while" ! Not a nice atmosphere at all.
