Has anyone experience of sites around London?
I've booked Crystal Palace, but have now seen the reviews saying it's noisy in a tent, so I'm having doubts.
I don't really fancy trekking round London all day then not being able to sleep.
Am considering Abbey Wood now...
any advice would be appreciated.

well crystal palace is excelent in my opinion. Very nice site and well run. Excelent connections in to the city.

Do they allow tents? Didn't think they did but don't worry I am probably wrong

Yes they do, you drive through the tenting area to get to the Caravan pitches

Come night time, the roads around were not that busy tbh, and we were out till quite late.

Mrs scarletsfan is a light sleeper, and we have van windows slightly open for ventilation at night all year round.  She was not bothered by road noise, yes you have the background hum of London but you'll ignore that after a while.

Communication links into the city are great and run till late at night.

We were pitched right next to the tent area and heard very little noise, I am also a very light sleeper.
