Just had three nights with the grandkids at haven blackpool site my advice steer clear there was only one small shower block , everything and everywhere you go cost a fortune , pitches are not very good all are on slopes, kids funpasses only let you in to THE ARCADE lots of money to be spent, so if you dont want a shower got lots of money to spare, like loads of late night noise and fighting, steer clear

We went here a few years ago in my parents tourer, never ever again, would say exactly the same as busyphil. It is a dump, expensive, over crowded dirty shower blocks. We had groups of grown men actually fighting at 1am outside our van. Never ever again. Stay well clear of this place.
Think those Haven/British hol places are a total rip off.......got there brochure through and was really shocked to see the prices they are charging in the summer at one site Devon Cliffe's it was £80 per night for fri/sat are they having a laugh........???????????????

Martin Mere doesn't (or at least never used to) take tents. From all accounts it is a lousy site. Haven site vary greatly from site to site. There are some good bargains to be had - these tend to be last minute ones, or off peak. Saying that we got 4 nights for £28 at Lakeland last October half term - including FunWorks passes.
Stayed in the hotel at Ribby Hall last year, it was really good (2 bedroomed suite with small kitchen area). Nice pool, lovley restaurant, lots to do and very peaceful. Obviously no good if you want to take your tent or caravan but recommended all the same. I think you can get a day pass and use the pool etc if you are staying nearby.

I've stayed in a mobile home in Golden Sands, Mablethorpe and Lakeland, Grange-over-Sands - both were very nice and recommended. Blue Dolphin, Filey though - not recommended so much. It really does depend where you go with Haven - lots of people have said how good the touring site is in Lakeland for instance.
My daughter is at this moment at Wild Duck Norflok in a static van.....she said it is lovely can't fault the site but she isn't on the touring part so don't know what that is like......it wouldn't be so bad if these places charged less in line with other sites of their type......it is cheaper to go to Butlins at Skegness in your van and you get so much more free.
i think haven are overpriced we have been using parkresorts for a while now and we have been to 2 already this year highfield in clacton and yare village in gt yarmouth the shower blocks were great nitelife was good for the kids and adults everyone seemed so friendly
The Lakeland Haven site is a good one. The toilets and showers are spotless and the Warden is a friendly chap and very helpful. The pitches are flat and level and the site is well maintained. We spent three nights there and would go again.
