Daughter moved to Nottingham, and so can see her and at the same time have a holiday we where hoping to find a campsite near the centre.  Hopefully a campsite with fishing on it for us all to enjoy.

holme pierpont national water sports centre have a campsite but must admitt never used ir but is about 15 mins from the town centre

Can recommend Thorntons Holt at Stragglethorpe nr Cotgrave.  No fishing on site but the Grantham canal is just 2 minutes up the road.  Great campsite with an indoor pool and bit of a playground for kids.  Nearby pub Shepherds wasnt open when we were there (closed for refurbishment) but   We had a great weekend there a couple of weeks ago. About 10 - 15 minutes drive from middle of Nottingham and still in the middle of the countryside.  My favourite site!

Clumber park caravan club site in worksop is fantastic, Its about 40mins from nottingham centre but well worth the travel. It also has a fishing lake.
