can anybody recommend a good campsite around the buxton area,derbyshire. that allows dogs and kids, basic will do only require toilets

first time forum user so please help

newhaven, between buxton and ashbourne is nice, takes dogs and kids, rivendale is nice too, lots of farm sites if you have a look on the site search on here you are bound to find something you like

There is a beautiful one at Furness Vale.  Amazing views over the hills. A bit of a drive to buxton but no further than bakewell.

We've stayed recently at Bassett Wood Farm, close to Tissington.

They aren't listed on ukcampsite for some reason, but can be googled.

They do take dogs & kids. Facilities are basic - toilets and one shower (clean but not over efficient) The main camping field has about 8 or 10 hook ups. It is a Camping & Caravan Club certified site. We love it although found the shower annoying last time. There is no bar but there is a small kiddie play area and the lady from the farm comes round with a pony & trap offering rides for the children.
