Anyone know of a good basic tenting site in the Forest of Dean thats suitable for kids? TIA

What about this one in Symonds Yat.  Don't know if you want one that allows caravans aswell but there are usually lots of tents.

We're going to Doward Park for August Bank HOliday.
Obviously I haven't been yet but the reviews looked good (and we've got kids too)

Christchurch is good for kids or Bracelands.  They are both run by forest holidays.

Ended up at Rushmere Farm, quite adequate farmers field just outside Coleford withh free hot showers.

The weather obliged with round-the-clock cold showers so it wouldn't matter where we were it would still be a quagmire!

Bracelands looks good, enormous but nice setting in the forest. Doward Park looks nice but small.

Hello John we were planning to go to the forest for a long weekend at Doward but as you found is fully booked. I thought bracelands looked OK (enormous) but somehow didn't inspire me to want to go there so we decided to keep heading west and found sites in Powys East Wales, Brecon Beacons. I still want to go to Doward though.

Doward Park is lovely - good walk down to the hand ferry and then across the river to the pub!!  It's great there.

Hope you find somewhere - we've just been to Christchurch - it was ok (if dear)!
