One other thing to mention is that email is a very easy medium for miscommunication to arise. Often things can be erad as rude, abrupt or angry, when infact they are just hurried or brief.
In work (in an area where sensitivities run very high), I have a practice of always phoning if an email doesn't quite read right to me.
With no guess at anyone else's experience on here, it's worth remembering that how we read something may not always be how it was written!
