Hi All,

I am on a course for 3 weeks in July in Chiswick & would really like to find somewhere nearby to camp with a tent - Any suggestions?

Bill

Hi brobin,

Wish I had better news for you, there isn't anywhere!  If you intend coming into Chiswick by train then probably the most straightforward journey would be from this site in Epping http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=1384 It's on the wrong side of London but you could park at Loughton station which is on the central line and then you'd just have the one change onto the district line.

If you wish to drive in (and you'd be nuts to consider this during peak periods) then you'd be better off staying in Maidenhead (Berkshire).  There are two sites here which you will find using the 'camp site search' button at the top of the page.  It's then a straightforward drive in down the M4. This would be my choice as it's such a lovely area.  If your destination is anywhere near the High Road though you'll have problems with parking, probably a twenty minute walk!

Here's a link to show you what a great place Chiswick is.

Hi Frankie,

I guess I was looking to find somewhere nearer than that :-(

I live in Fleet in Hampshire & will be commuting for some of the days of the course, and I wanted to stay up for a few nights

I will be traveling on a motorbike & so traffic is not a problem!

My masterplan was to sling a tent on the back of the bike & camp at the nearest site - Problem is I just cannot find a site in the near vicinity & I don't want to spend £50 to £60 a night for a hotel / B&B

Regards

Bill

Sorry I can't help Bill, there just aren't any sites nearby.  If my back garden was larger...............

Hope you enjoy your time in Chiswick though.
