Hello, we live in southampton and regularily frequent the main stream campsites like sandyballs, shorefield, etc. can anyone recommend good sites to go to with children, my three boys are 11, 9 and 4. We are also looking to join a rally or camping clud to meet other families with kids. any comments would be great.

I'll be watching this with intereast as we are in the same area and use the same sites as you Jules. We alway went to Ashurst in previous years but are boycotting them this year because of the price increases.

Have you done a campsite search? There are hundreds of sites near Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Berkshire, Dorset, West and East Sussex, Somerset...all within a couple of hours of Southampton.
Regarding rallies we camp with the C&CC solent DA they are a very active group and there are a lot of families with children that camp with the group.
I would really recomend their Childrens Weekend if you haven't been before, it is held at the end of June/ Beg July, if you look in Out and About in the 'You have been invited' section all the details are there. It is a great weekend.
If you are a member of the Caravan Club they have a very nice members only site called Rookesbury Park near Fareham. We stayed there last weekend and I have put some pictures on my website. I know us Sotonians don't like to acknowledge the existance of Portsmouth!!! but that side of Southampton Water opens up a lot of possibilities.
