You may want to read http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/chatter/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=4&TopicID=97055, specifically AngieGL's comment on the 3rd March.

There are other Riversides in the area too, one in Caernarfon if memory serves, so confusion may arise.

Can't find the original thread alluded to there though - either the search here isn't quite detailed enough, or it's been deleted to free up some space.

hi all

well i have been there and done it

the site is quite good , close to vilage and pubs, lots of walks and thing to do.

the main bad point is that there is no space, they seem to cram you all in, this means the kids can not go running around without falling over tent ropes.

there is the railway that runs next to the site but the trains stop at night.

overall quite good, however i do not think i will go back because i like my space.

hope this helps

I used to really enjoy going to this site, having been there since I was very young. I have just called today to book for the weekend and have been advised that the site is currently closed until July for refurb and when it re-opens it will be caravan only... no tents. I find this such a shame as this is the nicest site in the area. I believe it is under new ownership which I thought was the case as the last time I visited last year I was greeted by 2 gentleman that were not as friendly as the previous owner and we were unable to get on the site (usually manage to squeeze in a corner somewhere but didnt have the option). Just a note to anyone thinking of going soon with a tent as I know a lot of backpackers tend to stay there.

Marc

This park has recently been taken over by morris leisure who have2 other touring parks in Shropshire, Stanmore hall at Bridgenorth and Oxon Hall at Shrewsbury.

Their website does not give many details at the moment other than it is due to open later this month.
