Hi

Ripley Caravan Park here, is about 20 miles from Leeds centre.

Nice site, takes big tents, clean facilities.

Hiya, have you ever been to Bradford??? I'm originally from Shipley which is 3 miles away and my sister actually lives in thornton village.Without sounding too harsh, There arent many un-dodgy areas in Bradford! (Sorry fellow Bradford chums!). Its quite a built up area and from the top of my head cant think of anywhere in Thornton. Qeensbury, Denholme, Halifax and Haworth are all close so might be best searching around those areas. Failing that I'm sure my sister or Dad could help further if you want me to get in touch with them???? my email is clairelkelly5601 at aol.com if you want to contact me. Im sure there will be somewhere fairly close, just a matter of finding one. I will have a look on net later and will post back if I have any joy.

Hi, i'm from shipley originally too!

Sorry but i really can't think of any around there either - the only one I know of is on baildon moor but its a scout camp.

I'll also ask family that live near and see if they can come up with something.

Edited to say I have just remembered one!  It too is on Baildon moor and its called Dobrudden something - but if you type dobrudden in the campste search here it brings it up.  My friends once stayed there while visiting me from scotland when i still lived at parents. Its near Baildon which is an area in Shipley and its about as 'undodgy' as you are gonna get in Bradford!  I'd say it was within 20 mins of Bradford centre.   From what they said it was a pretty nice site and seems like its in the middle of nowhere even tho its quite near Bradford.

There is a link to reviews etc on the campsite search thing on here.

Rough hey farm in Triangle which is near Sowerby Bridge is about 25 mins away it has showers they accept large tents but there is no booking but it doesn't get that busy.  There is some road noise but we didn't find it a problem.

Also the toilet, sink and shower are all in one room but as a family we did not find this to be a problem if fact we found it to be a good thing!!

I must say, I do agree about Bronte Caravan Park, I reckon its about as close as you can get to Thornton. Hope this has helped you.
